In automatic operation, the FMCS calculates the thrust mode display and reference N1 bug readout. If the FMCS calculations are not valid, the autothrottle limit message, A/T LIM, shows. The autothrottle computer then calculates a single N1 limit for both engines. Three dashes show in the thrust mode display field.
