UTC Aerospace Systems provides more than 20 proprietary systems for the new Airbus A350 XWB, a wide-body jetliner currently in development. The aircraft is comprised of more than 53% composite materials, and features aerodynamically optimized wings for maximum efficiency. The twin-engine aircraft is powered by the new Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine.

The A350 XWB is an all new family of midsized wide-body airliners, consisting of three passenger versions with true long-range capability of flying up to 8,500nm/15,580km. In a typical three-class configuration, the A350-800 will offer 270 seats while the A350-900 and the A350-1000 will offer 314 and 350 seats. The A350 XWB Family offers airlines the ability to match the aircraft to their network needs for optimum revenue potential.
