One operator has reported that their 737-600/-700/-800/-900 airplanes have maintenance write-ups for the thrust reverser translating sleeve witness marks not being aligned or missing. This has caused delays and resulted in thrust reversers being deactivated per the Minimum Equipment List (MEL).

Thrust Reverser Translating Sleeve Witness Marks
The purpose of the witness marks are for visual verification that the thrust reverser sleeves are stowed and locked. If the witness marks are not aligned, the thrust reverser may not have stowed properly after thrust reverser operation. The marks are for the benefit of the pilot's walk around spanflight inspection.
The witness marks should not be used as the sole indication that the thrust reverser is in the locked position and rigged properly. The flight deck indications define the state of the reverser sleeves and should be used for thrust reverser position indication. The witness marks can be used for visual verification of thrust reverser position but final verification should be based on flight deck indication.
对齐标记用于目视检查反推是否收起并锁定。如果标记未对齐,则可能是操作反推后,反推未能正确收上。此标记用于飞行员的飞行前绕机检查。
不应该把对齐标记当作反推装置处于锁定位置且校装正确的唯一指示。驾驶舱指示确定了反推的状态,并用于反推的位置指示。对齐标记可用于目视检查反推位置,但最终确认应基于驾驶舱的指示。
If the witness marks do not align after hydraulic spanssure is applied and there is no flight deck indication pertaining to the thrust reverser position, the thrust reverser is not required to be deactivated. The flight deck indications define the state of the thrust reverser position.
If the witness marks are missing, the thrust reverser is satisfactory for continued service provided there are no flight deck indications pertaining to the thrust reverser. If desired, the witness marks can be reapplied to the thrust reverser per the reference AMM task.
The witness marks are added to the reverser during aircraft production by the Exterior Marking - Maintenance drawing (414A4970 Sheet 7) and are considered maintenance aids which are not required for dispatch of the airplane. The witness marks can be deleted at the operators discretion.
如果施加液压后标记还未对齐,且没有与反推位置相关的驾驶舱指示,则不需要失效反推。反推装置位置的状态由驾驶舱指示来确定。
如果对齐标记缺失,则只要没有与反推装置相关的驾驶舱指示,反推装置可以继续使用。如果需要,可根据参考AMM程序重新喷涂反推对齐标记。
在飞机制造过程中,参考外部标记-维护图纸(414A4970 Sheet 7)将对齐标记添加到反推上,并将其视为飞机放行不需要的维护辅助工具。航空公司可自行决定删除对齐标记。
维护提示
飞机在出厂时在反推平移套筒后底部内侧喷涂了黑色的对齐标记,用来辅助平时目视检查反推是否收上锁好。

每架飞机可能喷的位置和方向上存在细微差别,反推平移滑套(TRANSLATING SLEEVE)可能会在不同的反推间更换,这样两半标记就可能会轻微的错位。
对齐标记只是辅助检查用的,反推是否可用要看反推系统是否有故障,也就是驾驶舱的指示。
