M.Insulation Resistance Test (Subtask 24-21-14-810-017-A01)
NOTE: Do this test within 10 minutes after performance tests are completed andthe
starter/generator is still hot.
NOTE: The voltage used in this test is for service repair units. This voltageis half the voltage
used for new units.
(1) Open all load and control switches.
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGES ARE DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH
IF HIGH-VOLTAGE SAFETY PROCEDURES ARE NOT OBEYED. PERSONS
WHO WORK WITH OR NEAR HIGH VOLTAGES MUST KNOW MODERN
RESUSCITATION PROCEDURES.
CAUTION: DAMAGE TOSTARTER/GENERATOR WILL OCCUR IF CURRENT TRANSFORMER
SECONDARIES ARE NOT SHORT-CIRCUITED FOR INSULATION RESISTANCE
TEST.
(2) Effectively ground the Starter/Generator frame. Ground all current transformers, and all wire
connections, with exception of terminal block terminals T1, T2, T3, andN, and electrical
connector J2, pins 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7.
