A3 . Fault Confirmation
A. Test
Do the operationnal test of the VHF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-12-00-710-
001).
NOTE : Do the transmission test for more than 60 s to see the ECAM
warning on the upper ECAM DU.
(The COM VHF 1 EMITTING message comes into view after 60 s of
continuous transmission).
NOTE : Do this test at each crew station to find which station is related
with the failure.
NOTE : Do this test for the VHF 1 system only.
NOTE : At the end of the test (before you do the fault isolation
procedure), make sure that these controls are not in the transmit
position:
- the VHF 1 transmission pushbutton switch on an Audio Control
Panel
- a radio PTT switch on one of the two side sticks
- a radio PTT pushbutton switch
- a hand mike selector.
4 . Fault Isolation
A. Table of the circuit breakers used in this procedure:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PANEL DESIGNATION IDENT. LOCATION
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
49VU COM/VHF/1 2RC1 G09
B. After 60 s, when the VHF 1 transmission stops, this ECAM warning does not
go out of view:
- COM VHF 1 EMITTING.
(1) If the above warning does not go out of view after action on the VHF
1 transmission pushbutton switch (green bars off) (on the ACP of the
related station):
R - go to Para. 4.D.
(2) If the above warning goes out of view after action on the VHF 1
transmission pushbutton switch (green bars off) (on the ACP of the
related station):
- go to Para. 4.C.SM 23-51/06
C. Open the circuit breaker 2RC1 on the panel 49VU, then close it.
(1) If the fault continues:
- do a check for ground at the pin AB/1D of the VHF 1 transceiver
(1RC1) (Ref. ASM 23-12/01).
