FILTER MAINTENANCE KITS
Filter replacement and cleaning is standard practice during scheduled maintenance intervals. In order to facilitate filter maintenance, the following Filter Maintenance Kit Document has been developed.
Filter Kits in this document were developed to provide a kit of parts identified by a single part number which could be used to service a given end item. The intent of the single part number is to provide a convenient way to procure and distribute the parts needed for regularly scheduled filter maintenance. The Filter Kits are referenced in the Illustrated Parts Catalog Introduction (IPC) and in the IPC nomenclature column, against a module or element that has an applicable filter kit in the Filter Maintenance Kit
All filter kits are developed from information gathered from the IPC, Maintenance Planning Document (MPD) and the necessary Supplier data. Kit selection must be made corresponding to the model and configuration of the operator's aircraft.Each individual kit has its own illustration of its parts, a locator view for where it is used on the airplane, and a list of detail parts in each kit. Included are notes of the intervals where the Maintenance Planning Document requires a filter to be replaced or inspected. This interval is expressed in terms of hours or is related to A, B, C, or D checks.
The filter kits in this catalog are supplied with non-cleanable filter elements only and applicable associated parts to facilitate scheduled aircraft maintenance items.Kits that service filters with cleanable elements do not contain a new element. The element may be cleaned on removal or a replacement may be obtained from the airline's rotable stock.
To insure the airplane configuration is not altered when using the kits or its components compliance to the airplane maintenance documentation is necessary for identification and installing purposes. Filter kits are not intended to supersede any of the manufacturer's service bulletins, component maintenance manuals(CMM) or engineering drawing revisions.
