GE Aviation China Engineering Team

GE Aviation China Engineering team established in 2003, as a multiple functional team, supporting ARJ21 program, Sourcing business manufacturing support and aviation systems.

GE won the Best Supplier Award and the Best On-site Support Award in 2008 because the excellent support delivered by ARJ21 on-site support team. The first ARJ21-700 aircraft, 1st flight on Nov 28, 2009, has ferried flight to Xi"an Yanliang for the further certification flight, which will accelerate the program progress. The 2nd aircraft did a perfect first flight on July 1st, 2009, will also conduct ferry flight to Yanliang in August. The China engineering ESD&I team is supporting the flight test aircraft fleet operation, trouble shooting, engine flight test item and certification in both Shanghai and Xi"an now. This team is also engaging in supporting CFM leapX engine pursuit to C919 program. Let we wish that LeapX engine can win the C919 campaign and this team can bring their best experience for a successful C919 program in the future.

In 2007, GE aviation extend the business into aircraft systems, including avionics, electrical power and mechanical system after the acquisition of Smiths Aerospace, This acquisition extends sourcing product range from mechanical components to avionics. Meanwhile, engineering team"s responsibility expanded to GE Aviation Mechanical System, Electrical Power System, and Digital System. Aviation China engineering team provides supplier evaluation, special process control, and first article inspection for Mechanical System. Aviation China Engineering is also support the system pursuit to C919 program.
